Step 1: Brainstorm a list of questions about your selected topic
Use these question starts to help you think of interesting questions:
- Why?
- What are the reasons?
- What if?
- What is the purpose?
- How would it be different?
- Suppose that?
- What if we knew?
- What would change if?
Thinking Routine: Generate/Sort/Connect/Elaborate
Step 2: Choose the Best Questions to Research
Out of the questions brainstormed, each person is responsible for answering minimum 1 or maximum 2 questions each. Each group member should be answering a different question. Each group member should also choose at least 1 of the vocabulary words to learn and be able to define in their research.

Step 3: Begin Researching!
You will be provided at class time to research your topic. If you use your time well and stay on task, you will likely not require any more time. However, if your group was slow to start and you fell behind in time, you may be required to spend a little time outside of class to catch up. It is up to you to manage your time well, complete your responsibilities, and be a positive and contributing group member.
